Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

MeloMusic is built so that there is as little to protect as possible. We do not ask you to create an account, we do not show ads, and we do not use analytics or tracking tools of any kind. Your library lives on your phone, not on our servers.

What we do not collect

MeloMusic does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact detail
  • Accounts, passwords, or sign-in credentials, since there are none to create
  • Advertising identifiers, device fingerprints, or cross-app tracking data
  • Analytics, usage statistics, crash telemetry, or behavioural profiles
  • Your location
  • Your contacts, photos, or files, beyond an image you deliberately choose as artwork

What stays on your device

Everything that makes MeloMusic yours is stored locally, in the app’s own storage, and is never sent to us:

  • The audio files in your library, and their titles, artists, and artwork
  • Your playlists, favourites, sort order, and playback position
  • Your settings, including theme and language
  • Any artwork you pick from your photo library for a track

Deleting the app removes all of it. We cannot recover it for you, because we never had a copy.

Importing music

MeloMusic can add audio files to your library from two sources, and neither one routes through our servers:

  • Files you pick from your device: the app reads them directly from local storage
  • Dropbox: you sign in to your own Dropbox account, and the app talks to Dropbox directly to list and download your files

When you link Dropbox, the app opens Dropbox’s own sign-in page and receives an access token in return, which is stored securely on your device (in the system keychain) and used only to talk to Dropbox’s API on your behalf. We never see your Dropbox credentials, and the files you import never pass through us: they go straight from Dropbox to your device. Dropbox’s own privacy policy applies to that connection.

Third parties

MeloMusic contains no advertising networks, no social media SDKs, and no third-party analytics. If you choose to link Dropbox, MeloMusic communicates directly with Dropbox as described above, subject to Dropbox’s own privacy policy.

Children

MeloMusic is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, this is a statement of intent rather than a limitation we need to enforce.

Your rights

Rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability apply to personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to hand over or erase. You control your library directly: remove a track in the app, or delete the app to remove everything at once.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new date above. Continuing to use MeloMusic after a change means you accept the updated policy.
